Ellen Elliott-Brown
2D/UI Artist

Ellen Elliott-Brown is a 2D/UI artist in the games industry who has worked on multiple titles from indie to AAA.
Most recently she worked on the upcoming survival crafting game Lost Skies at Bossa Games as their senior UI artist, establishing a UI art direction that immerses the player in the “brand” of the game world.
As a graphic designer at Rockstar North she worked on the UI and in-world graphic design of Red Dead Redemption 2, among other titles, where she gained a lifelong appreciation for the often overlooked art form of environmental graphic design.
She also plays drums in a punk band, but isn’t very good.
Ellen Elliott-Brown is speaking at the following session/s
“GrApHiC dEsIgN iS mY pAsSiOn” - What do 2D Artists Do on 3D Games?
Who creates the coffee shop branding, the handwritten notes, the graffiti, the t-shirt designs, the tattoos in your favourite game worlds? It's time to demystify what a 2D artist does on 3D games in this often misunderstood specialisation.
As a former graphic designer on RDR 2 and multiple GTA titles I'll be discussing this exciting but often forgotten role in game development, talking you through the history of 2D design in games, the general process and best practices behind it and why not all good graphic design is "good" graphic design.
